The city of Lima and AEP Ohio are partnering on Energy Savers, a new pilot program. The benefits of Energy Savers are simple: residents and businesses of the Lima community can reduce their energy use and costs by participating in one of AEP Ohio’s energy efficiency programs and when they do, they can help Lima earn community awards.
AEP Ohio and Lima have agreed upon a goal of 750 program participants by June 30 for customers within the city proper. By participating in the Energy Savers program, Lima residents and businesses will have the opportunity to save energy and money, and help the city of Lima receive significant awards. Every time a community member participates in an AEP Ohio energy efficiency program, their action will count towards Lima’s goal.
If the Lima Energy Savers participation goal is reached by June 30, Lima will use the incentive award from AEP Ohio to complete energy efficiency lighting upgrades at Simmons Field, home of the Lima Locos and other area baseball teams. Improvements to Simmons Field will help the city of Lima reduce annual energy costs and make the field better for players and fans.
Lima residents and businesses that are customers of AEP Ohio can participate in Energy Savers in a variety of ways. For instance, recycle your old, inefficient refrigerator through the Appliance Recycling program or schedule an assessment with the In-home Energy program to identify and correct areas in your home where you may be wasting energy Technical support and financial incentives are also available to help business customers install energy efficient equipment and technologies.
