534 Michael Avenuenue (Nov. 18, 2009) – Clifford Watson and Vera Young

On November 18, 2009, Clifford Watson and Vera Young assisted Mandy Downing and her 4-year old son, Jesse Schaffer at a house fire at 534 Michael Avenuenue. Before Firefighters arrived, Clifford Watson entered the burning house and in thick smoke, found Jesse and carried him from danger. Vera Young assisted with medical care until firefighters and paramedics arrived.

1176 Bay Circle Fire (Dec 1, 2009) – John Beebe, Mary Singh and Ashley Irons

Mary Singh, Ashley Irons and Lima City Street Supervisor, John Beebe were honored for their actions on December 1, 2009 at a house fire at 1176 Bay Circle. Mr. Beebe pulled Robert Snider from the burning structure. He and his wife Patricia were given first aid by Mary Singh and Ashley Irons, who are both registered nursing assistants. They stayed with and cared for the victims until firefighters and paramedics arrived.
