2017 Tree Rebate Program

City of Lima Tree Rebate Program Aiming for a Successful Second SeasonSycamore Leaves
The City of Lima's Stormwater Department is promoting the planting of trees in city limits by funding the Tree Rebate Program for a second year.  The goal of the program is to plant species suitable to this region in an effort to reduce stormwater runoff and positively impact the city's aesthetic qualities.

To be eligible for the 50% rebate, trees must be planted within city limits.  There is a limit of two (2) rebates for newly planted trees per parcel.  The rebate covers half the cost of purchasing the tree and having it professionally installed.  Professional installation is not required, but recommended.  Residents and businesses, alike, are welcome to participate.  Participants may also make arrangements with schools, churches, and other organizations in the city to donate trees for their landscapes.

Fall Fiesta Sugar MapleTrees must be selected from the approved tree list which includes 69 different trees.  The list was greatly expanded from the previous year to offer something for every size of space and every maintenance tolerance.  To help aid in the decision-making process, the trees have been grouped by their general size at maturity.  The list can be accessed HERE, online at www.allenswcd.com or hard copies may be picked up at the City Municipal Building in Town Square and at the Soil and Water Conservation District office.

The program runs from March 1 to November 30.  Funding from the Stormwater Department is limited and will be distributed on a first come/first served basis, so be sure to start planning your new landscape addition soon.  For more information or to schedule a consultation, contact Alaina Morman at or (419) 223-0040 x101.
